What this is

snib.games runs Stardew Valley multiplayer servers so a group of friends can share a farm without leaving a machine switched on. It is run by one person and their cat.

What it does not promise

There is no uptime guarantee. Farms are built to sleep when nobody is playing. That is the point of the thing, and it is why it costs a few pounds a month instead of forty. A sleeping farm takes a minute or two to wake.

The machines are preemptible. They can be taken away by the cloud provider at any moment with no notice. The farm comes back; the last few minutes of play may not.

The service is provided as it is, with no warranty. It is still being built, and things will break.

Your save

Saves are backed up, and removing a farm archives it rather than deleting it. That is a deliberate design decision and it is taken seriously. But keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose. No backup is a promise, and this one is not old enough to have been tested by a disaster.

What is asked of you

Do not use it to break the law. Do not attack it, or use it to attack anything else. Do not use it to run something that is not a Stardew farm. Do not resell it.

A farm can be suspended or removed if it is doing any of those, or if it is putting the machine other people’s farms live on at risk. Where there is a choice, you will be told first.

The game is not ours

Stardew Valley is made by ConcernedApe. snib.games is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to ConcernedApe or Valve. Everyone who plays needs their own copy of the game.

The servers run on Steam accounts belonging to the platform, and those accounts are not yours to use. You get a farm, not a login.

Money

Nothing is charged today. When farms are rented, the price and what it includes will be written on the site before anybody is asked to pay, and these terms will be updated first.

Changes, and stopping

These terms can change; the date at the top moves when they do. You can stop using the service whenever you like and ask for your saves. If the service itself has to stop, there will be reasonable notice and a way to take your saves with you.

Questions about any of this go to nando@snib.games.
